you know we learn a common language
so that we can communicate
in singapore we learn english
because it is no one's main language
so no one has an advantage over another

that's what we learned in SS

a common language
that we all know
so that we can better communicate

but what's the point if you can't communicate anyway?

you speak the same language
on the same topic
but you never come to an understanding

why?

because the other party never listens

ok fine
maybe they listen
but then they never pay attention
the only thing they pay attention to is what they have to say
whatever others say is just not valid
only what they have to say is valid

so you say somthing
and you let the other say somthing in reply
only to realise that what comes out of their mouth
is never with consideration of what you just said
they just go on with their same old rigid opinions
yours don't matter
at all
